“So, on the 50th anniversary of the iconic Porsche 911 Carrera, the RS 2.7, we wanted to create a tribute watch that would express the character and power of this pioneering sports car within our signature TAG Heuer Carrera chronograph. “The name and spirit of Carrera are incredibly meaningful and symbolic for both TAG Heuer and Porsche,” said Frederic Arnault, CEO of TAG Heuer. The design team converted the RS 2.7 into a semi-dual-compass display, with the date and running seconds indicator blurred at 6 o’clock. This brings us back to the RS 2.7 chronograph, which as you can see is very good. Thus the links between TAG Heuer and Porsche developed organically, putting a degree of pressure for delivery in special editions. While the origins of both the automaker and watchmaker are independent, the Carrera name is starting to take shape in the minds of enthusiasts.
